Wattway awarded the Jury Prize at the 2026 Future of the Smart City Awards

Wattway won the 2026 “Future of the Smart City” Jury Prize, organized by the France-Belgium Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This award recognizes our trafficable photovoltaic road surface solution, which was voted as one of the most promising, innovative, and sustainable among the 16 projects competing on the Belgian market.

The ceremony took place in Brussels during an afternoon rich in discussions on the role of local authorities in the deployment of smart cities, with contributions notably from the City of Charleroi and the City of Liège. Energy transition initiatives, including those of Brussels South Charleroi Airport, were also highlighted.

This prize acknowledges more than ten years of work by Wattway teams to develop and deploy a technology capable of transforming transport infrastructure into photovoltaic power plants.

This recognition marks a new milestone in Wattway’s development in Belgium and reinforces our ambition to actively contribute to building the cities of tomorrow.
