Generate your own energy at a controlled cost without spoiling the landscape!

Yachting harbours and marinas are committed to the energy transition on an everyday basis, despite their increasing demand for electricity due to the increased numbers of users and the hybridisation of moored boats.

However, marinas and yachting harbours are often constrained or indeed unsuitable for the installation of conventional photovoltaic systems. The lack of space, the acceptability of installing renewable energy generating equipment on landscaped and tourist sites and the resilience of the installations to strong winds are all complex issues.

Wattway solutions provide a relevant alternative for generating renewable energy in these areas, making new use of abundant land to develop your solar potential. Port infrastructure (quays, jetties, pontoons, promenade areas, esplanades and forecourts, car parks, cycle paths, pavements, etc.) occupies a considerable amount of space, so it is important to reconcile the installation of photovoltaic systems with visual unobtrusiveness, taking care not to spoil the landscape of these places.

What we offer

Wattway PLUS:
local energy generation

Wattway PLUS is a turnkey photovoltaic solution for generating energy locally for your own needs. The solar power plant is installed on your transport infrastructure over an area of several hundred or thousands of square metres to generate renewable energy locally for your own needs.

The energy generated is fed directly into your buildings and consumed there.

Benefits:

- Your electricity bills are reduced

- Your energy dependence is reduced

- The appearance of your property remains unspoiled

- You generate your own renewable energy

Optimised use of the land occupied by your port infrastructure

Wattway PACK:
energy self-sufficiency

Wattway PACK is a photovoltaic solution, a kind of self-sufficient electrical outlet on the traffic-bearing surface, which provides an autonomous power supply for all types of electrical equipment near the traffic route in both urban and rural areas. Covering only a few square metres of ground, this solution is useful when the power grid is non-existent or remote and therefore difficult and/or costly to connect to.

Benefits:

- Short installation times

- Reduced inconvenience to users during works

- Reduced installation costs

- The appearance of the location remains unspoiled with an unobtrusive solution

Autonomous power supply provided for equipment

Where can Wattway be installed in a seaport?

Examples of locations for Wattway photovoltaic power plants:

  • Concrete quay
  • Footpath / walking area
  • Jetties
  • Seawalls
  • Wharf (wood, concrete, etc.)

Possible associated uses:

  • Nearby buildings consuming energy for their own needs (harbour master's office, ferry terminal, etc.)
  • Power supply for boat terminals
  • Lighting
  • Electric fleet charging station
  • Green H2 electrolyser

Ascertain your needs

Do you wish to reduce your energy bills by using a system to produce your own energy for use in your buildings?
Our Wattway PLUS local own consumption solution is just what you need!

Do you wish to install electrical equipment (bicycle charging point, pedestrian safety system, etc.) on the traffic route, but there is no nearby power supply? Our Wattway PACK energy self-sufficiency solution for equipment is just what you need!

Identification

Choose a flat, non-shaded site with an asphalt or concrete surface in good condition.
For Wattway PLUS: record your annual energy consumption and its purchase price. This information will be used to design and calculate the profitability of your project.
For Wattway PACK: identify the type of equipment to be powered, its rated power (W) and its intended operating hours. This information will be used to design and calculate the profitability of your project.

Example of deployment

Example of a Wattway PLUS project on a concrete quay:

A marina is installing a 100kWp Wattway PLUS photovoltaic power plant (around 500 m²) on a quay with a smooth concrete surface.

The electricity generated on location by this facility will be used by the various adjacent port buildings (harbour master's office, ferry terminal, etc.).

This Wattway installation could generate the following energy in the first year (subject to site and shade conditions):

  • Lagos in Portugal:  120 MWh/year
  • Port Camargue in France: 100 MWh/year
  • Le Port, Réunion: 110 MWh/year
