Autonomous recharging system for electrically-assisted bicycles
Oléron, France

Oléron, France
Site presentation
This private company wanted to set up an electric bicycle charging solution on its site for its employees and visitors. The company was looking for an autonomous solution using renewable energy, but with the firm intention of avoiding any invasive work that could be involved in the installation of such a system.
The Wattway PACK charging point solution for electrically-assisted bicycles meets this requirement.
How the
system works
The system consists of 3 photovoltaic modules with a capacity of 125 Wp/slab (generation 2022), a secure electrical cabinet and 5 electrically-assisted bicycle charging points. The modules are installed on top of the car park surface in an area adjacent to the buildings. They convert solar energy into electricity during the day. The electrical cabinet is installed near the modules and contains the electrical equipment needed to convert and store the energy to provide an autonomous power supply for the equipment 24 hours a day. The scheme is designed to charge around 10 bicycles per day in May on the island of Oléron.
Why did this company
choose Wattway PACK?
Wattway PACK makes it possible to place electrically-assisted bicycle charging points and provide services on isolated sites in energy blackspots or areas with restricted grid access.
This company wanted an autonomous, local and sustainable renewable energy solution for this purpose.
Wattway PACK is quick to install, requiring few administrative formalities and minimising any inconvenience to users.
